Nighttime in the Country

The night light seeped through the window in my room
The moon was glowing brightly amid the stars

The traits of nighttime in the country

A meteor flies past, my eyes blinded by the light
I hear the howling of the wind and the dust it is blowing-the color of Mars

The traits of nighttime in the country

I lie down on my fluffy pillow, and feel the soothing touch of its gentle hug
The sheets and blankets embrace me with a feeling of warmth and comfort

The traits of nighttime in the country

Before falling into a dream, I take a sip of water
It tastes fresh and filling; to one's throat a delightful yet calming resort

The traits of nighttime in the country

I listen to the murmur of the creek
The relaxing scene lulls me to sleep

The traits of nighttime in the country

Family Reunions

I love every summer
Until it ends-then it's a bummer

The reunions and such make a great time
(Sorry I don't know another sentences that would rhyme!)

Playing with cousins, third, second, and first
Remembering all can make your head burst!

But the best part of all the reunions go to
Is spending time with them and them with you!

Fall

School is starting
Our summer is parting

Some kids are balling
The leaves are falling

Fall is approaching
Football coaches are coaching

For liking fall I have only three reasons
My birthday, Halloween, and football season!

The Tweny Fourth of July

I always remember the twenty fourth of July
The water games, the wave pool, and plenty of pie

I like to play with my family and friends
It seems like the day never ends (at first)

Celebrating our heritage of all pioneers
And the coming forth of new prophets and seers.

I'm grateful for the day and the fun that it is
And playing with the family- Paul, James, the twins, Ali, Dad and Liz!

May Flowers

Pretty Springtime flowers bloom
Like a rainbow on a loom

Near the garden and the school
Like a carpenter's shed full of tools

Beautifully their colors glow
Like the wind making things blow

Red and yellow, blue and white
Such a beautiful springtime sight!

Two Friends (a story in a poem)

Two friends went out to play one day
Down in the creak and by the bay

They met some youngsters eating pie
They said 'hello', then hurried by,

Down and deeper, farther they went
Until they came to a green-and-blue tent

They peeked inside and saw not a soul
So they went inside, but found a big hole.

They fell down the hole, with Linda on top
Until they came to a large abrupt stop

They were trapped in a hole with nothing to do
Linda was hungry, and Betty was too

They finally decided to call for help
But no one could hear a single yelp

Then an idea came to Betty
The plan was good and she knew she was ready

They slowly dug holes in that muddy dirt wall
They dug till each step was one inch tall

Then slowly they climbed up that wall that they made
And ran home before the sun could fade.

The Bus

Loudly it rolled down the bumpy hill
Until it reached the stop where it went still

Then slowly it opened the loud screeching door
While many students stepped onto the floor

Then quickly it turned 'round the curvy bend
And went over the bumps and the hills to the end

Then finally it came to a slamming halt
And we arrived at our school late- the traffic's fault!

Seventeen little friends pranced

Algebra....how?

Two plus two is four
Five times two is ten for sure
But what is a times two?

Posedion's * Water

Poseidon controlled
The water that moved along
Singing a soft song

MY Book

My book is the book for me
That's for sure, 100%, absolutely

It tells of fables, myths, and tales
About princess' shoes, and pirate's sails

It gives me the adventure I enjoy the most
It gives me the tales of a royal host

No matter what, however, my book always pleases me
Even when I'm craving mystery, adventure or fantasy

It's great for me when I'm feeling depressed
It's great for me when I'm feeling like the damsel in distress

My book is much better than TV or a park
It simply beat's everything with every single quotation mark!

Shoes

I love shoes!
Pink shoes, red shoes, blue, shoes, black shoes
Shiny shoes, plain shoes, sewn shoes
Leather shoes, plastic shoes, rubber shoes, metallic shoes
Nikes, Sketchers, Sauconies, and more
Shoes are everywhere all over my floor!

The Mysterious Girl in the Cloak

The masked girl moved in swiftly from the dark
No one hear her- the dog didn't bark

She came in my bedroom, in great relief
Until she stepped on a crunchy old leaf

She made a noise and then ran away fast
Then I woke up from my mysterious dream at last!

The Rain That Fell

That rain, that rain, it wouldn't stop falling
Apparently the sky was really bawling!

Would it ever go away?
So we could go outside and play?

The rain was pretty to watch as it fell
And it even created a pleasant smell

But why, oh why, couldn't it stop just for now?
A few fifteen minutes, just stop raining so low?

This poem was written By Anna Bryner
It was a rainy day on the day I wrote it and I just wanted the rain to go away.
Today, all of our baseball games, the parade, and pictures were all cancelled due to the rain so I felt it appropriate to post this post today!
